From 1929 he was a member of the progressive organisation of Czech intellectuals, the Left Entrance. He exhibited 149 portraits within the Aventine Mansard (catalogue with introduction by Karel Teige, opening George Voskovec and Jan Werich) and prepared a collection of Czech likenesses for Rozpravy, which was printed on the front web page.
